Cheese Yield Winner
The Cheese Yield contest honors the junior members whose cows produce the highest cheese yield during a 30-day period. This program emphasizes the fact that Brown Swiss milk is ideal for cheese-making due to its high protein content and ideal fat-to-protein ratio. Since many dairymen are paid on component-merit basis, this program exemplifies the value of the Brown Swiss milk.

My name is Emily Button, I was born and raised on my family dairy farm, Vine Valley Farm, located in Rushville New York. Our farm consists of 500 head of registered Brown Swiss, and I began showing them as soon as I was able to. My future plans involve returning to the family farm after I receive my degree in Dairy Science at SUNY Morrisville, where I'm currently attending my second semester. My hobbies, not surprisingly, consist of showing cattle and working on the farm.
