The Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding (CDCB) approved reductions in genomic evaluation fees for animals whose genotype is received March 2, 2015, or later.

CDCB genomic fees are structured so that those who are providing the most data of the greatest value to the cooperator database are rewarded for their contribution.  The fee schedule also encourages them to grow the amount and kinds of data being contributed to the system to improve genomic estimates in the future.

CDCB fees are charged in addition to the initial cost of animal genotyping and cover the ongoing expenses of calculating and distributing unofficial weekly and official monthly genomic evaluations and complete summaries published three times each year, in April, August and December.

All required female fees and initial male fees are collected by the nominator.  These fees are charged only for the first genotype submitted for each animal.  Additional rules apply to obtaining genomic predictions for bulls from which semen is collected and used.  For details, visit the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding website, www.cdcb.us.

The Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding conducts genetic evaluations for economically important traits of dairy cattle.  The CDCB allied partners cooperator database is the largest in the world, which is devoted to dairy animals, with more than 120 million female phenotypic records and more than 480,000 males receiving genetic evaluations or genomic predictions.
