2020 Annual Meeting Minutes

President Richard Sparrow called the 140th Annual Meeting of the Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders’ Association of the USA (BSCBA) to order on Thursday, July 2, 2020, in Beloit, Wisconsin.  Executive Secretary Norm Magnussen gave the notice of the annual meeting.  President Sparrow then called for a moment of silence for those deceased breeders and friends over the past year.

Caleb Heck, Chair of the Tally Committee, gave the Tally report: as of April 30, 2020, BSCBA had 629 members with a quorum requirement of 63.  There were 127 members present in person or by proxy giving a quorum.  A motion was made by Dennis Worden to approve the minutes from 2019, with a second by Phil Heck.  Motion passed.

President’s Message

President Sparrow thanked the members of the board for all of their dedication and contributions they have made and said it had been a pleasure serving on the board with them all. President Sparrow felt that the board had done a great job of being objective and continuing to improve the Brown Swiss breed. Sparrow mentioned what a pleasure it has been to work with Secretary Magnussen and that he has been glad to work with someone that has such knowledge and passion for the breed. As a breeder, he looks forward to seeing what the new board will do and appreciates all the efforts that the new board will put forth to the future.
