National Shows - Production Awards
Two-Week Deadline
All production records for both the class production awards as well as total performance calculations must be submitted to the national office at least two weeks prior to show date. Copies of individual cow pages or DHIA reports including the most current 305-day record for an animal will qualify. In addition, individual cow pages showing lifetime production for cows to be entered in the total performance category must be provided by the breeder. This information must be sent to the national office at least two weeks prior to show date.
Late Fee
In instances where records for either total performance or individual class awards are received less than two weeks prior to show date, a $50 fee will be charged to include the record.
Test Day Deadlines
For total performance, the cow must have at least three complete 305-day lactations by July 1 of the current year. In addition, lifetime production will be calculated to July 1 of the current year. Thus, the last monthly milk weights and percentages must be included to be able to accurately determine the total pounds of Energy-Corrected Milk as of July 1 of the current year. For the individual class awards, current lactation may be used up to test date two weeks prior to show date.
It is the responsibility of the owner or exhibitor to provide production information to the national office by the deadline. As a reminder, records eligible for the class awards must have been completed in the previous 12 months, i.e., the cow must have calved on or after September 1, 1999, to be eligible for the 2001 class production awards.
