The Brown Swiss Association held its 2010 National Convention and Annual Meeting June 30-July 3 in Louisville, Kentucky. During the annual meeting luncheon the Brown Swiss Historical Society announced the first winners of the two new awards they will be presenting annually.

The Master Breeder Award Progam, adopted in 2009, will annually recognize people important to the continuing progress of the Brown Swiss breed. The awards will recognize a breeder that successfully developed a breeding program that accentuated cow families, especially those that contributed significantly to the advancement of the breed. There will be two awards, Historical Master Breeder Award and Active Master Breeder Award.

The 2010 Award Winners were: Vernon Hull, Historical Master Breeder, and Wayne E. Sliker, Active Master Breeder. The pictures below were taken during the presentation. We invite you to read more about the two recipients and enjoy the "historical" pictures of each through the years.
